When Lindsay Bosworth lost her virginity she lost her trust in the man she had always loved. Now four years later she is faced with the one person she never wanted to see again.
Drew Foster has spent the last four years fighting for his country and fighting off the demons that have plagued him since that fateful night when he last saw her. Now, as her Head of Security, can Drew right a wrong that took away the one woman he has ever loved.
Being the daughter of Senator Harry Bosworth, Lindsay has to keep up a public appearance but when that appearance is of her being naked and abused on live stream video a cover up beginnings leaving Lindsay and Drew with no idea who they can trust, including each other.
When threats against Lindsay start up again, Drew vows that he will protect her with his life but who can protect him? Will Lindsay and Drew find their way back to each other or are the events of the past too much for either of them get over?
Fantastic series. I thought about reviewing each book separately but to be honest, knowing who the author of these books is (Julia Kent), I knew I would read the whole series.
Lindsay has not been the same since ‘the incident’, as it is so nicely referred to by her parents, and seeing Drew again sends her heart in a tailspin. Hate and love war within her. She should hate him but something just won’t let go of her old feelings for him. Drew has a secret, and it is not a secret he wants to share. But needing Lindsay to trust him is top priority.
Two damaged people, fighting forces against them. It doesn’t look good for our heroes!
Lindsay goes through so much in this series. You’d really like to think that she would have the support of her family. Her dad, the Senator, is campaigning for President and therefore needs to do damage control but if you ask me he needs to get control over his wife. Lindsay’s mother is so concerned about her husband’s political career that she completely overlooks her duty as a mother. I think I would prefer to stay on the Island if I had a mother like her, seriously how can one woman e so heartless towards her own daughter?!
Filled with action, intrigue, twists and set-ups, never knowing who to trust, this is a series that kept me engaged and needing to find out what would happen next. Lindsay and Drew are a great pair of characters and let’s hope their lives settle down a bit and they can enjoy some peace at last.
